Thiruvananthapuram: A fresh controversy has erupted over the ‘colourful’ question paper which was distributed for the Plus One annual examination began on Friday in Kerala. The students and teachers were puzzled by the unexpected move of the education department, which printed questions in pinkish-red ink, instead of black.
Former education minister and IUML leader PK Abdu Rabb mocked the government for the change in the colour of print in the question paper. “If it was green, I would have been compelled to resign,” posted Abdu Rabb. If a symbol of a crescent moon was mistakenly published in the question paper during his term, at least 5-6 KSRTC buses would have been damaged by pelting stones and even the minister’s public addressing would be disrupted, Abdu Rabb’s post read.
It may be noted that the CPM flag is red, while the IUML flag is green. Abdu Rabb’s post subtly aimed to hint at this.
Meanwhile, education minister V Sivankutty asked “What is wrong with Red?”. He said that the colour of the print was changed for Plus One question papers to easily distinguish them from Plus Two question papers. The change in colour of prints will help the invigilators to easily identify the question papers as the students in both classes will be seated in a mixed pattern for the upcoming examinations, he added.
